Opening and using a template

Introducing the template library

This tutorial shows screenshots from a previous version of Rotato, so they might look slightly different on your Mac. We will be posting an updated tutorial shortly!

Whenever you open a template, Rotato adds that template to the template library, allowing you to quickly access the template again without having to look for the template file.

From a template file

If you just downloaded a template or got one from a team mate, here’s how to use it and add it to your library. You can recognnize template files by the icon that is different from a normal Rotato file icon, and it also says “template”. Furthermore, Rotato templates have the .rotatotemplate file name extension (but you may not see this in Finder)

  1. Double click the template file.
This opens the template and also installs the template. If there are videos or audio files associated with your template, those files will also be installed automatically.

From the library

  1. Open Rotato
  2. In the welcome screen, choose Templates in the side bar
  3. Click the template you want to open
