Export a snapshot

A snapshot renders the scene at the current playhead time.

Save a still

1. Move the playhead to the frame you want.
2. Check the camera framing, screen content, and any visible overlays.
3. Click Image in the toolbar.
4. Choose the image format and resolution in the Save dialog, then click Save.

You can also drag the rendered preview from the export area into another app.

Choose a format

Use PNG when you need transparency. You can also choose WebP or AVIF for image export, which can be useful for websites. Check that the receiving app supports the format you choose.

Keep an editable copy

Save the .rotato project as well as the exported image. The project preserves the scene and timeline so you can change the design or camera later.
