Change the device in your scene

Replace a model when an existing scene needs a different phone, tablet, or laptop. Rotato keeps the screen artwork and swaps the hardware.

Replace the selected model

1. Select the device in the canvas or Devices list.
2. Choose Replace Device in the inspector, or press Shift–Command–R.
3. Search for the model you need.
4. Select the replacement model.
5. Check the new screen dimensions, framing, size, and position in the scene.

The replacement can have a different screen shape, hinge, and available poses. In the example above, replacing an iPhone 17 Pro Max with a Galaxy S26 changes the displayed screen dimensions from 1,320 × 2,868 to 1,080 × 2,340.

Inspect the movie at the beginning, middle, and end after replacing an animated device. Adjust the imported artwork if its aspect ratio no longer matches, and review any device-specific animation or pose settings.

Save a copy of a finished project before replacing its models. Use Undo to compare with the original.
