Replace a screen clip without rebuilding its timing

Use the live screen preview in the inspector to replace the content at the playhead.

Replace the selected moment

1. Select the device and, if relevant, its display.
2. Move the playhead inside the screen clip you want to replace.
3. Check the thumbnail in Screen to confirm the target.
4. Click Replace…, select the replacement image or video, then click Open. You can also drop media onto that preview.
5. Scrub the clip and its neighbors. The replaced clip keeps its start time and duration; the neighboring clips stay in place.

If the inspector says No media at playhead, you are between screen clips. Move into the intended clip before replacing it.

Check the framing after replacement, especially when switching between a tall screenshot and a wider video.
