Give your screen a desktop
Frame your work with a wallpaper, browser window and Dock
Show a website or app in a desktop setting on a laptop or monitor. Desktop presets add wallpaper, a menu bar, browser controls and a Dock around your screen content.
Choose a desktop
- Select a laptop or monitor and add your screen image or video.
- In Desktop, choose a preset from the dropdown.
- Click the settings icon beside the dropdown to open the Desktop sidebar.
- Adjust the appearance, wallpaper, menu bar, Dock and browser controls. Enter the address you want to show in the browser toolbar.
Your first change creates a preset named Custom 1, or the next available number. Rename it in the sidebar. The preset appears in this document's dropdown; other displays using that same preset also receive your changes.
Choose No desktop to hide the desktop decorations while keeping the screen placement controls.
Choose wallpaper and Dock icons
Choose one of the included wallpapers, a solid color, or browse for your own image.
Open the Dock icon editor to arrange its icons. Drag a row to reorder it, use + to add icons, or select a row and click − to remove it. The next row stays selected so you can remove several in sequence.
In Add Dock Icons, click Browse… to choose a file. An image supplies its contents; another file, folder or app supplies its Finder icon. Rotato stores the imported artwork in the document, so you do not need to keep the original file beside your project.
Place the window
Use the Screen controls to choose the presentation and adjust the window in its placement diagram. Drag inside the small window to move it, or drag its scale handle to resize it. Movement is deliberately slower than the pointer for precise positioning.
The window snaps to the horizontal center and to vertical centers for the full display and the space above the Dock. Hold Shift while dragging to lock movement to one axis.
Long page images can scroll inside the window. The surrounding desktop stays in place.
Save your setup
Save your Rotato document to keep its presets, imported artwork, Dock order and screen placement. Reopening the document restores that setup. Desktop presentation also appears in Rendered View and path-traced exports.
