Add a background behind a title

A text background can separate a title from the device or image underneath it.

Style the title

1. Add or select a Text Overlay.
2. Enable Background under Fill in the text inspector.
3. Set the background color below the checkbox. Set the text color above it; for example, use white text on a black background.
4. Preview it over the busiest part of the movie.

Check the complete title

Try a longer line of text and inspect how the background fits it. Move the playhead through any title animation to make sure the background supports the whole entrance and exit.

For a title that does not need a background, leave it disabled and choose a text color with enough contrast.
